Orlando Pirates are the latest side to be at the centre of allegations of using witchcraft before a game after fan footage started doing the rounds on social media.
In the video, which was shot by someone in the stands, a Pirates team member can be seen walking towards the goalposts before applying something to it. He then walks over to the other post and does the same thing while players and other staff gather in the goal area.
The incident occurred before the Buccaneers’ latest DStv Premiership fixture against Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
As noted by IOL, the two teams shared the points after a thrilling encounter.
Pirates took the lead in the first half thanks to a Bandile Shandu goal, but Chippa equalised through a former Pirates player. Goodman Mosele equalised in the 65th minute for The Chilli Boys as they secured a hard-fought point at home.
