Wolverhampton Wanderers are among the few clubs that have mastered the art of using social media to connect with their audiences.

From Instagram to X to the not-so-new but fast-emerging Tik Tok, the social media admin is always sending sucker punches every time he/she or they hit send.

Like that time they brutally mocked Nottingham Forest at the end of a Premier League clash last season. In all fairness, though, Forest brought it upon themselves when they took a sly shot at Diego Costa in their prematch posters and indicated 'playtime,' as Sports Brief previously reported.

Wolves went on to beat them and reciprocated in kind with a brutal post of their own. They shared a picture of a cut-down tree with an axe on top of it. Get it? The caption read, 'Playtime is over!'

Andre Onana penalty controversy

This time, they have trained their guns on Andre Onana after the Manchester United goalkeeper was involved in a controversial penalty incident on Monday night. Gary O'Neill's side were forced to pay for their profligacy after Raphael Varane put the hosts ahead.

In all fairness, again, Wolves had a strong case for a penalty when Onana rammed into striker Sasa Kalajdzic, but referee Simon Hooper declined to give them a spot-kick.

The Molineux-based side has now created a rendition of the incident using the popular prank TV show, Impractical Jokers.

The four pranksters often dare each other to do awkward things. In this case, they 'dare' Onana to run and yell Cannonball. Onana reluctantly agrees to do so after his 'friends' promise to let him know when he is about to hit someone.

After all, what are friends for, right?

Onana then lunges himself in the air and as he crushes into the Austrian striker, the Impractical Jokers' actors yell Cannonball, but it is already a tad too late as Kalajdzic is left on the turf.

EPL drops referees

Sports Brief has also reported that Simon Hooper has now been dropped from selection for the upcoming weekends matches alongside VAR officials Michael Salisbury and Richard West

This comes at a time when the President of the referee's body, Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), Howard Webb, apologised to Wolves for the error
