Neymar Junior is officially an Al-Hilal player. The Brazilian superstar has joined the Saudi Arabian side from Paris Saint-Germain, where he spent the last six years.
His compatriot, the legendary Ronaldinho, has sent the forward a congratulatory message as he embarks on a new journey in his career.
The deal to the Saudi Pro League side is worth €90 million plus add-ons, per the BBC. Neymar is the latest star from a European club to move to Saudi Arabia.
"I'm here in Saudi Arabia. I'm Hilali," Neymar said in a video announcing his signing.
The Brazilian will join Kalidou Koulibaly, Rúben Neves, and Sergej Milinković-Savić, who have all signed for Al-Hilal this summer.
The 31-year-old remains the most expensive footballer in history.
PSG paid €222mil to acquire his services in 2017. It was a groundbreaking transfer that changed the football landscape forever.
Ronaldinho's message to Neymar
Ronaldinho, one of the greatest footballers of all time, penned a message to Neymar on social media, wishing him well as he begins another journey.
The message was translated as follows:
"All success to you, my partner! Good luck."
Ronaldinho played for PSG between 2001 to 2003 before moving to Barcelona. He won the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Brazil.
Neymar made 173 appearances for the Parisians, scoring 118 goals and helping the club win 13 trophies, including five Ligue 1 titles. The coveted Champions League trophy evaded him at the club.
