Football“Deontay Is a Very Dangerous Fighter Right Now”: Wilder’s Trainer Warns Joshua
- Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder is set to be on the cards after AJ defeated Robert Helenius
- Wilder is said to be in a staggering shape at the moment, according to his trainer Malik Scott
- Scott said the ‘Bronze Bomber’ is in a dangerous shape and would be too strong for the British-Nigerian
Ahead of their proposed blockbuster heavyweight bout, Deontay Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott has fired a strong warning to Anthony Joshua.
Joshua defeated Robert Helenius in round seven following a smashing right hand, and many have touted the ‘Bronze Bomber’ to be his next opponent.
Scott has boasted that Wilder is currently in a staggering shape and would not go that long before crushing AJ.
In a chat with the October Red YouTube Channel, the trainer stated that Wilder is in the form of his life and will be too dangerous for Joshua to take on.
He said:
“Was I really impressed besides the knockout? No. Did it give me type of feeling that we got some trouble coming in January? No.
“It actually makes me more confident. I know that he only has three or four rounds in the ring with Deontay before he gets knocked out.
“It went up to the [seventh] round, but before then – the story is that AJ was being patient. He wasn’t trying to go for the knockout. That’s the sales pitch. But I really look at it like he wasn’t taking chances early on.
“And that’s like a good thing, especially when your next fight is possibly Deontay Wilder, who’s the hardest puncher in the history of the sport.
“Deontay is a very dangerous fighter right now. Deontay is coming to send him to the next dimension and that is his intention. When he is not punching at you, he is punching through you.”

FootballAJ ready for Wilder
Sports Brief earlier reported that Anthony Joshua is in high spirits after finishing off his last opponent with a brutal knockout punch and has wasted no time calling out his next one, a very household name.
Joshua delivered a vicious blow to knockout Robert Helenius in the seventh round. However, it appeared he intentionally prolonged the fight, having had opportunities in the fifth and sixth rounds of their encounter at the 02 Arena in London.
Helenius came in at short notice; the original opponent, Dillian Whyte, was pulled from the show after returning an adverse anti-doping finding.
