  • Kylian Mbappe has the football world dancing to his tune after refusing to be sold this summer
  • The French forward has been reintegrated into the Paris Saint-Germain first-team
  • Mbappe is entering the final year of his contract with PSG amid interest from Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe will not be bullied into making decisions he does not approve of, and Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi witnessed this first-hand this summer.

The 24-year-old forward shocked French football when he declared his intention to leave the French capital club next season on a free transfer.

According to Eurosport, Nasser Al-Khelaifi has told Mbappe that he had two weeks to decide his future and ‘the door is open’ for him to leave, with Real Madrid and Al-Hilal waiting with a juicy offer for the French forward.

Mbappe would later be relegated to PSG’s reserves and dropped from the club’s pre-season tour of Asia for deciding against renewing his deal or leaving the club after the stipulated deadline.

With Real Madrid, PSG, and Al-Hilal all dancing to the forward’s tune, it automatically makes the 2022 World Cup Golden Boot winner the most powerful footballer in the world.

Mbappe knows his worth

PSG have now stated that Mbappe has been welcomed back into the first team with open arms the morning after being shown what must have felt like a horrifying vision of a future without the France captain.

PSG pettily took down Mbappe posters in and around their stadium and stopped selling his shirt in the club shop in a bid to bully him out of the club, but the 24-year-old maintained his stand, GOAL reports.

Mbappe also refused to negotiate with Al-Hilal after PSG had accepted a world-record fee for his transfer. He declined to meet officials of the Saudi Pro League giants when they flew to Paris.

The Saudi Arabian side sought permission to speak to Mbappe after making a world record £259m bid for the Paris St-Germain forward.

Mbappe keeps Real Madrid waiting

Mbappe is demonstrating a level of mastery over not only his career but also the transfer market that we have never seen before.

Cristiano Ronaldo was forced to relocate to Saudi Arabia since no one wanted him in Europe anymore, while Lionel Messi was thrown out of Camp Nou due to Barcelona's financial issues and even moved to the MLS after failing to impress at PSG.

Mbappe, though, is in a position to do as he pleases while he decides what's best for him, and keeping Real Madrid waiting has been one of the Frenchman’s accomplishments.

Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez clearly wants to sign Mbappe despite the 24-year-old turning down a move to the Spanish giants last summer, and he is willing to play the long game by waiting till the forward is a free agent.

Either way, Mbappe is clearly the biggest winner this summer as PSG have bowed to the player’s needs while Real Madrid and Al-Hilal could also not influence his decisions.

PSG recall Mbappe

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Paris Saint-Germain swiftly reversed their decision to exclude Mbappe from their first-team roster.

In a statement issued on Sunday, August 13, the club disclosed that the 24-year-old had been reintegrated into the squad following productive discussions.

Throughout the summer, Mbappe and PSG have been embroiled in a standoff after he formally communicated his intention not to extend his existing contract beyond this season.
