  • Molefi Ntseki has reacted after his Kaizer Chiefs team picked up their first win
  • Football fans were not impressed when Ntseki was first announced as manager
  • Ntseki has hit back at those who judged him when he first became Chiefs coach

Molefi Ntseki believes he has started vindicating Kaizer Chiefs’ decision to hire him with the team's recent victory.

The Amakhosi made headlines when they named Ntseki as the new man in charge instead of bringing in a more established manager.

After a draw against Chippa United and a loss against Mamelodi Sundowns, many fans questioned the decision again.

With Chiefs picking up a victory in their MTN 8 clash against Cape Town City, Ntseki believes he has proved his doubters wrong.

The Amakhosi beat City 2-1 thanks to a late Edson Castillo goal, Soccer Laduma reported.

As noted by Sowetan LIVE, Ntseki said fans are too quick to make judgments in South African football.

"As for the public and anybody who had questions about me, I said and I am saying it again, it is normal. In South Africa, you are declared useless before you’re even born."

Ntseki added that there was a lot of noise about other coaches coming in from outside sources, but the club never made mention of this.

"I think it was a plan from the club to say, 'look, we have to have somebody from within so that we can continue with our technical team'," the Chiefs coach added.

Ntseki hopes the Amakhosi will continue their winning ways when they take on TS Galaxy in the DStv Premiership on Sunday, August 20.

They also have two fixtures against Mamelodi Sundowns to look forward to in the MTN 8, but the league is yet to confirm the dates and venues for those games.

Ntseki appointed new Chiefs manager

The Amakhosi appointed a new manager to take charge of the side effective immediately, but it was not the name everyone was expecting.

As Sports Brief previously reported, Chiefs appointed Ntseki for Arthur Zwane, with 10111 returning to an assistant role with Dillon Sheppard.
