  • Lionel Messi's influence in his new league has been brutally compared to Cristiano Ronaldo's
  • Brazilian influencer, Luva de Pedreiro uploaded a graphic comparing the two GOATs
  • Messi moved to the Major League Soccer months after Ronaldo joined Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr

Brazilian football influencer, Luva de Pedreiro has taken a swipe at Lionel Messi over his inability to attract fellow superstars to the Major League Soccer, unlike Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi and Ronaldo have continued to divide opinions even after leaving European Leagues, with both sets of fans using different parameters to judge who is the better footballer than the other.

The latest bone of contention has been Ronaldo's influence in the Saudi Pro League, which has seen an influx of close to 20 world-beating stars. The Portuguese icon started the domino effect when he joined Al-Nassr in January.

Ronaldo's influence in Saudi Arabia

Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane, N'Golo Kante, and several others have since followed suit as Saudi authorities look to make the league more competitive.

Messi, meanwhile, declined a lucrative offer to move to the Middle East and instead chose to head West, where he signed for Inter Miami in the United States of America. The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has since been joined by his former Barcelona teammates, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, as reported by BBC Sport.

De Pedreiro, who recently met Ronaldo, shared a graphic on his Instagram stories depicting how players were favouring a move to Saudi Arabia rather than joining Messi in the MLS. It showed a picture of the Argentine with only two players lining up to join him as Ronaldo 'registered' many more players.

The two stars are definitely set to carry this rivalry deep into their sunset years in football.

Messi's devious freekick tactic

Sports Brief previously reported that Lionel Messi's free kicks are so good that Nico Estévez, the manager of his latest victims, FC Dallas, believes that Messi taking a free kick is almost the same as any other player taking a penalty: the likelihood of it going in is greater than him missing.

Some may ask what tricks the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner uses. While his ability on dead balls is unrivalled, a new video suggests that maybe the former Barcelona man uses underhanded tactics at times.
