According to Sky Sports, the 22-year-old signed an eight-and-a-half-year deal at Stamford Bridge after his arrival.

Fernandez was part of the Chelsea squad that endured a disastrous campaign last term, which saw the club finish the season in 12th place.

However, the World Cup winner has given fans a glimpse of what to expect this term after delivering a masterclass in Chelsea's EPL opener against Liverpool on Sunday, August 13.

Enzo Fernandez named man of the match

According to Sportbible, the Argentinian started in a deeper midfield role for Mauricio Pochettino's side and effectively commanded the middle of the park in the absence of key players.

A compilation of his highlights from the EPL cracker have since broken the internet, with fans and pundits applauding the midfielder for his performance.

Enzo's all-around qualities were evident throughout the game and deservedly earned him the man of the match plaudits.

The tie ended in a 1-1 draw, with the Reds settling for a point at Stamford Bridge.

Luis Diaz opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 18th minute before Blues' new signing Disasi equalised minutes before the break.

Poch delivers James injury update

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Chelsea Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino has downplayed Reece James' injury fears after the defender went off during their opening Premier League game against Liverpool on August 13.

James started his first game since being installed as the new club captain to take over from Cesar Azpilicueta, who left for Atletico Madrid.

He started in a back-five formation at Stamford Bridge as Pochettino looked to contain Jurgen Klopp's forwards in his first competitive game in West London.
