  • Mohamed Salah was surprisingly taken off during Liverpool's game against Chelsea on Sunday
  • Jurgen Klopp made the decision with the game finely poised at one-all
  • The Egyptian did not take the decision well, snubbing his manager on his way out

Mohamed Salah left the pitch in a fit of visible anger after he was substituted during the Premier League game against Chelsea on August 13.

Salah was named in Jurgen Klopp's starting XI at Stamford Bridge on the opening weekend of Premier League action.

The Egyptian rattled the crossbar before teeing up Luis Diaz for the opening goal of the game. He then thought he had gotten on the scoresheet himself, but his goal was ruled out for offside.

Chelsea's new signing Alex Disasi restored parity before Mauricio Pochettino saw Ben Chilwell's goal to take them ahead chalked off for offside as well.

Salah's substitution

Looking to shore things up, Klopp took off Salah in the 77th minute for Harvey Elliot, with the Reds number 11 walking off absolutely dejected. He snubbed his manager as he went straight to the substitutes bench.

It was the first time in seven years that the 31-year-old had failed to score on the opening day of a Premier League campaign.

The game ended in a draw, the seventh consecutive time the teams had failed to cancel each other out in normal and extra time.

Hazard spotted at Stamford Bridge

Sports Brief reported that Eden Hazard was spotted at Stamford Bridge ahead of the 1-1 draw between his former club and visiting Liverpool.

The Belgian is currently without a club after his contract was mutually terminated last season after four years and claims he is set to retire after not finding a new club. His presence also speculates that he could return to the club on a short-term basis after a long injury to attacking midfielder Christopher Nkunku.

Today's encounter has a different bad blood for the two club as they are locked in a transfer battle over midfielders Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.
