A skirmish broke out in Saudi Arabia after Al-Nassr star, Anderson Talisca, tried to plant a flag on the field following his team's victory over their Riyadh rivals, Al-Hilal, after the final of the Arab Champions Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo displayed his prowess with a decisive pair of goals at the King Fahd Sports City Stadium in Ta'if to guide the Knights of Najd to victory.

The Portuguese superstar first levelled the score before securing the winning goal in extra time, yet the most chaotic moments were reserved for beyond the final whistle.

Ronaldo's teammate, Talisca, stormed the field with a jumbo-sized flag sporting the club's yellow-and-blue colours.

In a video shared on social media, the Brazilian made an effort to position the flagpole at the centre of the pitch but he was intercepted by Al-Hilal defender, Ali Al-Bulaihi, who attempted to forcefully take the flag away.

This led to a confrontation between the two, as Al-Bulaihi aimed to protect his team's reputation, resulting in a swarm of players and staff members from both teams converging on the midfield.

Talisca's actions seem to have been driven by lingering animosities from a similar event involving the two teams nearly two years ago.

In that instance, Al-Hilal emerged victorious 2-1 during the semi-finals of the Asian Champions League.

Notably, Al-Bulaihi had planted a flag bearing his club's colours right at the heart of the opposition's home ground of Mrsool Park in Riyadh.

Ronaldo dances after cup win

Meanwhile, Ronaldo danced after Al-Nassr's victory in the Arab Club Champions Cup, after a narrow win against rival club, Al-Hilal.

A video circulating on social media showed the veteran lifting the trophy into on his shoulder while energetically dancing with joy.

As Ronaldo headed towards his Al-Nassr teammates to raise the trophy, his celebration mirrored the sheer elation of the moment.

Fans salute Ronaldo after Arab Cup

Sports Brief also reported on fans lauding Ronaldo after Al-Nassr won the Arab Club Champions Cup, thanks to his fifth consecutive goal of the competition.

The 38-year-old capitalised on an exquisite right-sided delivery from Sultan Al-Ghannam to equalise after Michael had put his team ahead in the second half.
