Arsenal fans have been sent into a panic after new signing Jurrien Timber hobbled off with an injury on his Premier League debut against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, August 12.

Timber is among four major signings the Gunners made this summer in a bid to challenge Manchester City for the crown this season.

The Dutchman had initially been linked with a move to Old Trafford, only for him to link up with Mikel Arteta at the Emirates Stadium.

The defender had previously had a chance to show fans what they should expect, having been involved in Arsenal's pre-season campaign.

Arteta made no mistake handing Timber his first Premier League minutes, with the ex-Ajax ace making his EPL bow against Nottingham Forest.

However, the new summer signing could not last the entire match as he picked a knock midway through the first half.

According to The Sun, the £39million signing clutched his knee and had to be supported off the pitch by Arsenal medics before he was eventually replaced by Takehiro Tomiyasu at left-back.

Arsenal stun Nottingham

Despite Timber's injury, Arsenal still went on to secure a 2-1 vital win over Forest to kick off their title bid on a winning note.

According to The Guardian, goals from Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka were enough to earn the north Londoners a deserved win.

Nketiah opened the scoring in the 26th minute before Saka doubled the advantage six minutes later.

Taiwo Awoniyi earned the visitors a consolation with eight minutes left on the clock.

Arsenal played in wrong kit

Earlier, Sports Brief reported it has now emerged that Arsenal wore the wrong kit during their Premier League opener on Saturday, August 12.

The Gunners kicked off their title bid with an encounter against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta's charges were in good shape during the tie as they secured a 2-1 encouraging win, thanks to goals from Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka.
