- Kylian Mbappe's dispute with PSG is far from over
- Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi appeared to question Mbappe's attitude as the club confirmed the signing of Ousmane Dembele
- Mbappe recently said he is not leaving the club this summer
Kylian Mbappe and Paris Saint-Germain have been in a protracted dispute for a while now, and there's no end in sight. The club has signed his potential replacement, Ousmane Dembele, probably because they feel Mbappe will be gone this summer or he won't play for the club again.
Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi appeared to take a brutal jibe at Mbappe when speaking about Dembele, a signing they completed on Saturday morning.
Mbappe recently told PSG he will not leave the club under any circumstances this summer, setting up a dramatic few weeks in the transfer window. The club previously insisted that he must sign a new deal or be sold this summer because they don't want to lose him for free next summer.
Signing Dembele was a sign that they are preparing for life without him.
Last month PSG reportedly accepted a world-record £258m bid from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal last month, but Mbappe rejected the one-year move to Saudi Arabia. The French champions feel Mbappe has already agreed to move to Real Madrid as a free agent next summer, per Sky Sports.
Al-Khelaifi's message to Mbappe
Al-Khelaifi recently said Mbappe has to sign an extension, and his latest comments seem to be directed at their best player's attitude.
"The passion and determination shown by Ousmane as he has signed for PSG is fantastic and perfectly corresponds to the attitude required of all of our players. We are proud to be able to bring another French World Cup winner to Paris Saint-Germain as we enter a new great era for our club,“ via 90min.
The president appeared to question Mbappe's attitude. It remains to be seen what will unfold in the last few weeks of the summer transfer window.
