Harry Kane's transfer saga: Bayern Munich adds Spurs' transfer target to the mix
FootballBitter Tottenham Fan Destroys Harry Kane Shirt Given to Him by Granddad
- A bizarre video has emerged online of a Tottenham fan destroying a Harry Kane shirt
- This is after Kane finally secured a £100m move to Bayern Munich on Saturday, August 12
- The fan in the video claimed the shirt was a gift from his grandfather
A Tottenham fan did not take Harry Kane’s transfer to Bayern Munich very well as he filmed himself destroying a shirt with the England captain’s name at the back.
After days of speculation, Kane finally secured a move to the German giants for a transfer fee which could rise to £120m.
The 30-year-old signed a four-year deal with the Bavarians, with both the striker and the North London club confirming his departure through different statements on social media.
Kane, who leaves Tottenham as the club’s all-time goal scorer with 280 goals in 435 games, had the well wishes of a majority of fans, but one Tottenham supporter did not take his departure well.
A user identified as @Gillespie2704 on Twitter shared a video of himself tarnishing a Tottenham shirt with Kane’s name on it in what was an open show of disapproval of the transfer.
“My grandad bought me this shirt just before he died. He was a POW in Germany during WW2 and died a few miles away from White Hart Lane,” he said in the caption.
“Despite Harry Kane no longer being a POW at Tottenham, ironically he died to me the second he stepped foot in Germany.”
Tottenham fans blast club
Elsewhere, a section of Tottenham fans also blasted the club’s hierarchy for allowing Kane to leave.
The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust released a scathing statement, protesting the transfer, saying as per Daily Star:
This is a sad day for all Spurs supporters. We are devastated to see Harry Kane go: our leading goal scorer and one of our greatest ever players.
“He embodied everything Tottenham Hotspur. He gave his all for the Club, giving us so many memories to treasure. We thank Harry for all he has done for Spurs.
