Ousmane Dembele has finally completed his switch to Paris Saint-Germain after the French forward signed his contract papers with the Ligue 1 champions on Friday, August 11.

PSG had threatened to abandon their expected purchase of the 26-year-old winger after giving Barcelona 24 hours to complete the deal following the Catalan club’s reluctance to finalise it.

According to Football Espana, Dembele has agreed on personal terms with PSG and has signed his first contract at the French club, meaning that a deal has been finalised.

The 26-year-old winger, who spent six seasons with Barcelona, has penned a five-year deal with the reigning Ligue 1 champions, which will keep him at the French club until 2028.

PSG had triggered Dembele’s private release clause of €50mil two weeks ago, but the deal was delayed due to Barcelona’s negotiations with the player’s agent over the transfer fee split, which is reported to be 50/50.

Meanwhile, Ousmane Dembele's transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain is "99 percent" complete, according to coach Luis Enrique on Friday, Channels reports.

The PSG boss confirmed in a pre-match press conference in Paris ahead of his team’s Ligue 1 opener against Lorient on Saturday that the deal for the Barcelona winger is all but done.

PSG are bolstering their attacking options with the futures of stars Kylian Mbappe and Neymar still uncertain as Dembele comes in as the Parisians ninth signing this summer after the acquisition of Milan Skriniar, Lucas Hernandez, Manuel Ugarte, Cher Ndour, Marco Asensio, Lee Kang-in, Goncalo Ramos and Arnau Tenas.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Ousmane Dembele has revealed there were other factors that forced his decision to leave Barcelona as he inches closer to finalising his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.

The 26-year-old reportedly had a heartfelt conversation with Xavi, explaining the Catalans' manager was not the reason why he chose to return home and join PSG rather than remaining in Spain.

Dembele revealed to Xavi that he wanted to continue at Barcelona but felt like the environment around him was not healthy for him.
