According to The Sun, Guardiola was in typically demanding form as he had a go with his star centre-forward despite him scoring two goals in the opening half.

The Spaniard was marching towards Haaland after the half-time whistle with his arms outstretched and was clearly demanding more from the Norwegian.

While it remains unclear what he said to the Norwegian, he could be heard shouting: "That was totally the opposite", before walking to slap the broadcast camera away.

On his part, Haaland appeared unbothered by what his manager was saying and did not respond to Pep's provocation.

Pep breaks silence on Haaland altercation

Guardiola has since broken his silence on the incident, playing down any bad blood between him and his starman.

“There’s no problem at all. It was about a connection with the players. He wanted the ball in behind him and the ball hasn't to be in behind. Sometimes you have to be patient to find the right moment," he explained via The Mirror.
"He was not frustrated, I am not frustrated. In football it happens. Don't be dramatic," he added.

Meanwhile, City will now be shifting their focus to their upcoming fixture against Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday, August 16.
