The Kylian Mbappe saga has dominated the summer transfer window, and there are no signs that it will end any time soon.
With the 2023/24 Ligue 1 season kicking off this weekend, Paris Saint-Germain coach, Luis Enrique, has fired a warning to the French superstar.
The 24-year-old world cup winner refused to sign a contract extension, meaning he will leave as a free agent next season. The Ligue 1 champions don't want their major asset to leave for free, so they want to sell him this summer. So we could be set for a dramatic end to the summer transfer window.
On Friday, multiple reports indicated that Mbappe told the club he is not leaving the club this summer under any circumstances, per Sky Sports. The club are now prepared to freeze him out until his contract runs out.
Mabppe has been forced to train alone after he was omitted from the club's pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea.
Enrique's message to Mbappe
Speaking ahead of PSG's opening Ligue 1 game against Lorient, the former Barcelona boss said he will put the club's interest above that of any other player. This means Mbappe will not feature in PSG's league opener.
“I hope and wish that, just like in the past [last summer], the same thing will happen again, and that the club and the player can reach an agreement. That’s what I would like. The philosophy of this club is very clear: that the club is above everything and I share it 100 per cent."

Neymar, the world's most expensive footballer, also informed the club he wants to leave this summer.
Mbappe deal to Madrid off
Sports Brief also reported that Real Madrid’s pursuit of Mbappe could be over, with the 24-year-old reportedly deciding to remain with Paris Saint-Germain this season after weeks of speculation regarding his next move.
The forward’s decision has been described as 'final' - meaning it is now up to the Ligue 1 champions whether to re-integrate him into the main squad after banishing him to the B team.
