Alan Shearer’s reaction to Harry Kane’s impending move to Bayern Munich has gone viral on social media.

Speculation surrounding Kane’s future is set to end after the latest reports suggest the England international has agreed to sign a four-year deal with Bayern worth £ 480,000 a week.

The move is subject to some small tweaks, but what is certain is that Kane will not be a Tottenham player come the start of the new season.

One person who welcomes Kane’s Premier League departure is Alan Shearer, who has been sweating over the striker’s proficiency in front of goal.

Kane is currently on 213 Premier League goals, just 47 goals shy of Shearer’s record of 260.

The fact that the 30-year-old will likely not be in the Premier League next season slightly lowers the chances of him breaking Shearer’s record, and the former Newcastle striker was delighted with his counterpart’s exit from the English top flight.

On Twitter (X), Shearer posted a hilarious video of himself photoshopped as a pilot with the caption:

“Come on, Harry. It’s time to go.”

Kane was largely tipped to beat Shearer’s record, but now with the Englishman signing a four-year deal with Bayern, it is unlikely that will happen.

Meanwhile, Spurs are set to get €100m fixed fee plus add-ons up to €20m for Kane, who was entering the final 12 months of his contract, as per Fabrizio Romano.

The striker will likely be handed the vacant number 9 shirt at Bayern and could make his debut against RB Leipzig on Saturday, August 12, in the DFL Supercup.

Michael Owen’s controversial take

Sports Brief also reported on Michael Owen’s controversial sentiments about Harry Kane’s move to Bayern.

Moments after The Athletic reported a deal in principle had been agreed between the two clubs, Owen took to social media platform X to offer some advice to Kane as he subtly dug at the Bundesliga in the process.

“Becoming the all time Premier League top goal scorer at Tottenham is a bigger achievement than winning the league in a country dominated by one club.” He tweeted.
