According to Sportskeeda, Bounou, who is top on Real Madrid’s list to replace Courtois, has now taken to social media to wish the Belgian goalkeeper well.

Real Madrid have enquired about Bounou from current club Sevilla, but the reigning Europa League winners are demanding €20mil for the 32-year-old Morocco international, who has two years left on his contract.

Last season, Bounou played 25 times for Sevilla in La Liga; however, towards the conclusion of the season, he was benched in favour of Marko Dmitrovic of Serbia.

Bounou would love Real Madrid

Meanwhile, Yassine Bounou would love to join Real Madrid this summer as Los Blancos are expected to make some moves in an attempt to fill the void Thibaut Courtois has left, Barca Universal reports.

The Morocco goalkeeper has always admired the La Liga club and sees this as an opportunity to showcase his abilities at the biggest stage of his career if he joins the squad.

The 32-year-old has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia but prefers to continue in Europe. There had been links to the likes of Tottenham, PSG, and Bayern Munich, but nothing came of it.

Bayern enter race for Bounou

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Yassine Bounou could be on his way to the Bundesliga next, with Bayern Munich interested in signing the Morocco goalkeeper as a backup option for next season.

Bounou caught the world’s attention after his remarkable performance for the Atlas Lions at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where he helped his country reach the semi-finals.

The Moroccan goalkeeper also played a key role for Sevilla as the Spanish club were crowned Europa League winners, defeating AS Roma in the final.
