  • Jude Bellingham has sent a message to Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois after his knee injury
  • Courtois ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during a training session
  • The Real Madrid keeper is expected to be sidelined for the rest of the season

Real Madrid summer signing, Jude Bellingham is one of the early sympathisers of Thibaut Courtois after the Belgian goalkeeper suffered a season-ending injury.

Courtois is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after the goalkeeper damaged the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee during Real Madrid’s training session on Thursday.

According to Talk Sport, the Real Madrid goalie will require surgery, which means he will likely return in April in a best-case scenario that automatically rules him out of most of the season.

Bellingham has now taken to social media to send his new teammate his best wishes, revealing that the Real Madrid goalkeeper has the team’s love and support during his tough time.

Bellingham joined Real Madrid in one of the biggest deals this summer after the Spanish club coughed up €103m to sign the Englishman from Borussia Dortmund.

Bounou sends wishes to Courtois

Meanwhile, Moroccan goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou has sent a get-well-soon message to Courtois after his knee injury, Sportskeeda reports.

The Moroccan, one of the targets Real Madrid are considering to replace the injured Courtois, took to Instagram to wish the Belgian goalkeeper a speedy recovery after his injury was announced.

Real Madrid currently have Andriy Lunin as their only fit senior goalkeeper. The 24-year-old Ukrainian has made just 17 senior appearances for the club since joining them five years ago.

Courtois breaks silence after injury

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Thibaut took to social media to update Real Madrid fans on his situation and speak about his lengthy recovery journey after he ruptured his ACL in training.

The former Chelsea and Atletico Madrid man is expected to miss the majority of the 2023/24 season and has vowed to work harder in his rehabilitation and come back stronger.

The 31-year-old will need several months to recover. The best-case scenario is a return in April 2024, depending on his rehab, but he could still miss the entire campaign.
