FootballNeymar Jr. Predicts His Stats for the 2023/24 Season Amid Uncertain PSG Future
- Neymar Jr is predicting a great 2023/24 season
- The Paris Saint-Germain star reportedly told the club he wants to leave this summer
- The Brazilian has not lit up Parc des Princes since his world-record move in 2017
Neymar Jr. shocked many at Paris Saint-Germain earlier this week by reportedly informing the club he wants to leave this summer. The Brazilian had just returned from a four-month injury layoff.
The former Barcelona man is expecting a good season, not just statistically but also in team success. He has won plenty in his career, but a Champions League title has evaded him at PSG.
Speaking to PUMA football, the 31-year-old said he expects to score more than 30 goals and over 20 assists next season. If he achieves those numbers, it will be one of his best seasons. He also said he is looking to win four trophies.
He has scored at least 30 goals in all competitions twice, both for Barcelona (2014/15, 2015/16). The most goals he has scored for PSG in all competitions is 28, which came in the 2017/18 season. He has not scored more than 20 goals since the 2018/19 campaign.
The good news for Neymar is he has hit double digits in goals every season since he moved to Barcelona from Santos in 2013,
Furthermore, he has registered at least 20 assists twice in the last 10 seasons. Both of those occasions came when he was at Barcelona in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons. In addition, he has hit double digits in assists in all competitions in nine of his last 10 seasons in Europe, per Transfermarkt.
Considering he has suffered many injuries in the last few seasons, he will need to be available and consistent to achieve those numbers.

FootballPSG to terminate Neymar's contract?
Neymar recently hit the headlines after he reportedly told PSG he wants to leave this summer. The development comes amid PSG's standoff with their superstar Kylian Mbappe.
He has been linked with a return to Barcelona, but the financial woes of the Spanish side could make that move impossible.
Therefore, the club could be forced to terminate his contract if there's no interest in the 31-year-old Brazil star.
