Sadio Mane showcased his wit when asked about the potential Arab Club Champions Cup opponents for Al-Nassr.
The Senegal international played a leading role in propelling his team, Al-Nassr, to the Grand Finale of the regional tournament. The Knights of Nahd triumphed over Iraqi champions Al Shorta in the semifinals.
In the build-up to the decisive moment in the tie, Mane was brought down in the box by his marker Faisal Jasim Nafil Al Manaa. Following a meticulous VAR review, Al-Nassr was awarded a penalty kick, which the consistently reliable Cristiano Ronaldo executed with finesse.
The goal spurred the Riyadh-based club into their inaugural appearance in the competition as they strive for the ultimate victory, Fan Nation reports.
However, standing in Mane and his teammate's way is city rivals Al-Hilal. Their next-door neighbours secured their spot in the final by defeating Al Shabab 3-1.
Before Al-Hilal's victory over Shabab, the former Liverpool winger was asked about his preference between the two potential opponents. Interestingly, his response exuded a sense of nonchalance.
"Al-Hilal or Al-Shabab in the final?” the reporter asked as quoted by Football Tweet. In answering the question Mane said: "I don't know the two teams."
