FootballEden Hazard: Former Real Madrid, Chelsea Star Considering Retirement Amid Lack of Offers: Reports
- Eden Hazard has been without a club since parting with Real Madrid
- The attacker suffered a torrid four years in the Spanish capital
- The Chelsea star is reported to be considering retiring from football
Eden Hazard’s decline from one of Europe’s best stars to one walking in the football abyss remains high on the list of football’s grace to grass stories.
The 32-year-old former Chelsea star was once at the top of the world of football and even secured a move to La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid for a club record ₤145 million despite having only one year left on his Chelsea contract.
After an uneventful injury-laced four-year spell at Madrid, the Belgian had his contract terminated.
Hazard has since been without a club and is reported by Madrid Zone on Twitter to be considering retirement.
Hazard to retire from football?
Spanish news outlet Sport recently reported that Hazard is still without a club this summer, and it’s proving to be much more difficult to find one than the forward might have imagined.
The Spanish Daily stated that he has so far not had any offers this summer.
Hazard’s lack of suitors has once again resurrected talks of the attacker considering retiring.
It should be recalled the former Belgian captain earlier in June debunked the talks of him retiring, after reiterating that he has rested for most of the last three years.
The former number seven could take a little time off from football with the hope that he completely heals from his persistent injuries. A career in the Saudi League or the MLS might just be the next best thing for the 32-year-old, considering that he has already played for a long while in Europe.

FootballIn a previous report, Sports Brief stated that Eden Hazard has declined an offer to join Lionel Messi and Inter Miami in the MLS.
Hazard, who captained Belgium and made 126 appearances for the Red Devils, appears to want a future away from the spotlight of the MLS. The forward was also linked with a move to Rafael Benitez’s side Celta Vigo.
