Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen could be facing time on the sidelines after suffering an ankle problem during training with Italian champions, Napoli.

The Super Eagles forward has been preparing ahead of the new campaign with his teammates in Naples.

However, on Tuesday, the Serie A golden boot winner limped off during practice after suffering what seemed to be a serious knock.

In a video spotted on social media, Osimhen is seen holding his ankle as Napoli's medics rushed to treat him.

The Nigeria international will undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury as the Italian champions continue preparations ahead of the new season.

Osimhen has been an important player for the Naples-based club, leading them to their first Scudetto in 33 years last season.

The 24-year-old looks set to stay at Napoli in the summer transfer window despite interest from clubs across Europe and Saudi Arabia.

Saudi club Al Hilal have intensified their chase on Victor Osimhen by offering a fresh lucrative contract for the Napoli striker.
