In the 2023 Joan Gamper Trophy clash against Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona's rising star Lamine Yamal emerged from the bench to orchestrate a shift in momentum in favour of the Catalan giants.

Experienced forward Robert Lewandowski struck early to secure the first goal for La Blaugrana within just three minutes, Evening Standard reports.

However, Tottenham mounted a fightback, with midfielder Oliver Skipp netting twice, granting the Premier League side a 2-1 lead by halftime.

Lamine Yamal's game changing performance

During the interval, Xavi implemented strategic substitutions in pursuit of an equalizer. Among these changes, 16-year-old prodigy Lamine Yamal proved to be the catalyst for Barcelona's resurgence.

Yamal's impactful contributions began by setting up Ferran Torres for the equalizing goal.

Then, with breath-taking skill, he outmanoeuvred Sergio Reguilon, subsequently releasing Torres to assist Ansu Fati, who secured the lead.

Sealing the triumph with a flourish, Moroccan talent Ezzalzouli added the finishing touch as Barca secured a 4-2 victory over Spurs. Much credit for this success was attributed to the mesmerizing performance delivered by their exceptional young talent, Lamine Yamal.

Lamine Yamal makes Barcelona debut

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that at the tender age of 15, Lamine Yamal debuted for Barcelona as they beat 10-man Real Betis to move 11 points clear at the top of La Liga.

The Blaugrana defeated Los Verdiblancos 4-0 thanks to goals from Andreas Christensen, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and an own goal from Guido Rodriguez.

At 15 years and 285 days old, Yamal, who is a graduate of the club's famous La Masia academy, is the youngest player to ever feature for Barcelona in LaLiga courtesy of his brief cameo on Saturday, April 29.
