Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka, Manchester United's Marcus Rashford, and Phil Foden of Man City are some of the players who previously heralded a new generation of football stars.

While the likes of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne will be looking to pick up from where they left off last season, there is a crop of young and little-known players who will be hoping to make an impression.

The pre-season campaign has already seen a handful of young prospects shine, with this season offering a stage for them to impress further.

Sports Brief takes a look at seven Premier League youngsters to look out for.

7. Rico Lewis (Man City, 18)

Rico Lewis broke through into the Man City first team last season and has seemingly gained Pep Guardiola's trust over time.

The Mirror reports that with Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo facing uncertain futures at the Etihad Stadium, Lewis has a chance of playing a more integral role in the first team.

6. Ethan Nwaneri (Arsenal, 16)

Ethan Nwaneri made history last season by becoming the youngest ever player to make a Premier League appearance, aged just 15 years and 181 days old.

His incredible dribbling skills are what especially caught the eye of many.

It remains to be seen how often Mikel Arteta will involve him next season.

5. Stefan Bajcetic (Liverpool, 18)

The Spanish youngster made his breakthrough into the Liverpool first team last season.

He went on to score his first Premier League goal in December before a devastating injury ended his campaign prematurely.

4. Levi Colwill (Chelsea, 20)

Levi Colwill is expected to play a prominent role under Mauricio Pochettino next season after showing glimpses of talent at the back during the pre-season.

The Guardian reports that Pochettino rejected a bid from Brighton over a possible summer move, with the decision all but proving the Argentine's desire to involve him more.

3. Cole Palmer (Man City, 21)

Cole Palmer was the man of the moment during Sunday's Community Shield clash between Man City and Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola took a risk and played the youngster in the encounter, with the 21-year-old repaying the faith by scoring the tie's opener.

2. Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea, 22)

Nicolas Jackson has become one of the biggest talking points of Chelsea's pre-season campaign.

He is among the players expected to play a big part in Pochettino's plan to revive the Blues' fortunes.

1. Rasmus Hojlund (Man United, 20)

Rasmus Hojlund needs no introduction.

The Denmark international had been the subject of intense transfer speculation before he sealed his much-anticipated transfer move to Man United.

Given the huge transfer fee paid for his services, the ex-Atalanta player will have a point to prove at Old Trafford.

No shirt number for Hojlund

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that details have emerged on why Manchester United summer signing, Rasmus Hojlund is yet to get a shirt number at Old Trafford.

Hojlund recently sealed a stunning move to the Premier League side, becoming United's third signing of the window.

It is understood that the Danish star penned a five-year contract with the option of an additional 12 months after the move.

While Hojlund has since been unveiled, it is yet to be known which shirt number he will be sporting at United.
