Explaining the PSL’s rule
In 2017, Soccer Laduma published an article about the new rules which were coming into effect in relation to players from out of the country.
According to the new rules, a PSL side can only have five foreign players.
The previous rule stated they could have any amount of players from outside of South Africa but could only register five for the season.
SAFA wants rule relooked at
In news related to this regulation, The Citizen previously reported that SAFA President, Danny Jordaan, wants the rule relooked at.
He was concerned there is no limit on how many foreign stars can be used in one game, claiming too many players from outside the country are hampering the development of the Bafana Bafana squad.

Sports Brief also reported on Chiefs dipped into the transfer market to bolster their squad ahead of next season, with new players who were previously signed being officially unveiled.
After finishing fifth in the Premiership last season, the club has since appointed a new coach in Molefi Ntseki and have brought in some big guns into the fold as they seek to improve.
