  • Sadio Mane’s agent recently hit out at Bayern Munich after the forward’s exit from the club
  • Bacary Cisse accused the German champions of racism
  • Bayern Munich have responded to the accusations made by the agent

Sadio Mane’s unceremonious exit from German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich has not been without its fair share of acrimony and ill feeling.

The Al Nassr forward's agent Bacary Cisse has not held back his disdain regarding how his client Mane was treated.

The Senegalese agent has accused the Bavarian club of racism and a few other unfair treatments amongst other things.

Mane’s agent accuses Bayern Munich

Bacary Cisse whose client, Mane, just put pen to paper on a jaw-dropping £650,000-a-week contract at Al Nassr was in an interview with French media RMC sport.

Cisse revealed:

"It wasn't a footballing decision (to sell him).
"Sadio's salary bothered the Germans, they didn't understand how an African joins the club and becomes the top earner ahead of everyone, so they wanted to get rid of him.
"They never called the player's representatives, they never told Sadio face-to-face that they wanted to get rid of him.
"They just sent [Thomas] Tuchel to tell him that he will be a third choice left winger.
"Sadio has nothing to prove to the Germans. He didn't become what he's become thanks to Bayern.
"It was thanks to Liverpool. Bayern were ungrateful. They were paying an African all this money, and that hurt them.
"He was professional until the end. But the people in charge at Bayern weren't fair.
"They first leaked to the media they were ready to sell him for €20 million
"But after he returned to training and they saw he was doing well, they raised the price to €30 million.
"Sadio didn't steal his money. From the first meeting with Bayern, he gave them his word that he would join, without talking about the salary. His representatives negotiated that salary for him."

The German club have wasted no time responding to these allegations. The official statement released by the club, quoted by Getfootballnewsfrance reads:

"We have terminated our contract with Sadio Mane by mutual agreement.
"Accusations of racism, as formulated by Sadio's entourage, are and have been baseless from the start. Our coach Thomas Tuchel never told Sadio he couldn't use him anymore.
"FC Bayern appreciated Sadio Mane as a man and as a player. Unfortunately, our common objectives, which we had set ourselves before his signature, have not been achieved.
We wish Sadio all the best and success at his new club."

Mane had an underwhelming spell at Bayern. His single season at the club was plagued by injuries which saw him miss out on the FIFA World Cup in Qatar and a huge part of the Bavarian club’s campaign.

Mane gives response about Salah

Sports Brief in another report stated Sadio Mane playfully responded to a fan's inquiry about his former Liverpool teammate, Mohamed Salah.

In the lead-up to Al-Nassr's quarterfinal tie against Raja Casablanca in the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup, a fan asked Mane about Salah's whereabouts. With a touch of wit, the new Al-Nassr No.10 replied, "He's in Liverpool."
