FootballOduor Gangla elected new Kenya Rugby Union chair
Odour Gangla is the new Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) chairman.
Gangla beat his closest challenger; former KRU Vice-Chairman, Sasha Mutai by 13 votes in a peaceful poll conducted on Wednesday, March 20, against the government’s directive that the elections be pushed back.
Gangla, who was the Union’s secretary garnered 33 votes to Sasha Mutai's 20, who lost a chance to lead Kenyan Rugby for the second time.

Sasha unsuccessfully tried his luck again in the last polls but lost by just two votes to the outgoing chairman, Omwela.
Former KCB chairman Asiko Owiro came a distant third with only two votes out of the 55 total votes cast.

Gangla is set to serve for four years and the Union will have to sit and come up with someone to replace him as the new secretary.
Gangla joined KRU board in 2016 having previously served as the Impala Saracens chairman.
