Kaizer Chiefs have kicked off the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season with a draw.
The Amakhosi took on Chippa United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, but could not get the three points they desperately wanted.
Both sides failed to find the back of the net as the game ended 0-0, leaving Chiefs more disappointed.
Coming into the game, Chiefs had only won one of their last eight opening games of the season.
With Chiefs giving a debut to many of their new signings, hopes were high that they would get all three points. Chiefs had nine shots during the whole game, with only three on target, while the Chilli Boys also had nine shots in the match, but managed four on target.
Speaking after the game, Chippa coach Morgan Mammila said his team should have actually beaten Chiefs.
"To be honest, we should have won this match. I only saw Chiefs in the last 10 minutes," he said.
Amakhosi fans will be hoping that their side fare better in their next DStv Premiership fixture. The Soweto side will have a quick turnaround as they take on defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns on August 9.
