According to Barca Universal, Manchester City has sent a formal message to Barcelona informing them that they will not negotiate for Silva this summer as they have no desire to sell him.

The Citizens are already said to be trying to hand the €80million rated midfielder a new contract in order to secure his future at the Etihad Stadium, with Barca and PSG lurking for his signature.

Silva is said to be keen on a move to Catalonia, although the Portugal midfielder will not push to force a move to Barcelona if City are unwilling to sell him.

Silva’s wife cancels Barcelona move

Meanwhile, Bernardo Silva’s wife, Ines Degener, appears to have ruled out any possible move of her husband joining Barcelona this summer despite the reported interest from the Catalan club, Football Espana reports.

Ines Degener is believed to have reached this conclusion after attending the farewell party for Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez, who both departed Manchester City this summer.

Gundogan joined Barcelona after spending six years at Manchester City, while Mahrez moved to Saudi Arabia to team up with Al Alhi.

Barca’s deal for Silva revealed

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Barcelona are tempting Manchester City’s resolve to keep Bernardo Silva after offering the Portugal midfielder a tempting deal to move to Camp Nou this summer.

Xavi is a huge admirer of the Portuguese midfielder and wants to sign him in order to boost the overall quality of the squad, with Ousmane Dembele and Frank Kessie set to be on their way out.

Barcelona has offered Silva a three-year deal with an option of a further year in a deal expected to cost in the region of €65mil plus €10mil in easy variables.
