Neymar ranks among football’s biggest superstars, but the Brazilian has never won a Ballon d’Or despite his illustrious career playing for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
The 31-year-old Brazilian finished third for the FIFA Ballon d'Or in 2015 and 2017, losing out to former teammate Lionel Messi who has won the prestigious award seven times.
According to Barca Universal, famous Brazilian agent Andre Cury has now blamed Neymar’s failure to win football’s most prestigious individual award on his decision to leave Barcelona.
“Neymar, if he hadn’t left Barcelona, he would surely have one or two Ballon d’Ors.”
Neymar, who won the UEFA Champions League in 2015 with Barcelona, joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 for a world-record transfer fee of €222 million after spending four seasons with the Catalan giants.
Why Neymar left Barcelona for PSG
Meanwhile, agent Andre Curry has said that Argentina superstar Lionel Messi might have played a part in Neymar's decision to leave Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain, Sportskeeda reports.
Curry claimed the 31-year-old Brazilian decided to leave the Catalan giants after Messi grabbed all the headlines in Barca’s 6-1 historic comeback victory against PSG in their Champions League encounter in 2017.
The Brazilian agent who helped facilitate Neymar’s move to PSG claimed Neymar was agitated after playing a starring role - bagging a brace - as Barca became the first team to recover from a 4-0 first-leg deficit only for Messi to take all the glory despite the Brazilian getting the Man of the Match award.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Neymar has been hailed as the best thing that has happened to Paris Saint-Germain despite recent criticisms the Brazilian has faced from the club’s fans and board.
