Neymar has been hailed as the best thing that has happened to Paris Saint-Germain despite recent criticisms the Brazilian has faced from the club’s fans and board.
The Brazilian superstar made headlines when he joined PSG from Barcelona for a world-record fee of €222m in 2017 but his move to Paris has now yielded the expected results for the Parisians.
According to Goal, famous Brazilian agent Andre Cury has now claimed Neymar was the reason Argentina icon Lionel Messi and France superstar Kylian Mbappe joined the Parisians.
"Everything [Neymar] has given PSG is priceless. He is the cheapest player in the club's history because just what he gave to Paris in marketing is incredible.
“If you go to any part of the world, surely there is a boy with a PSG shirt and they didn't even know what that club was before. In the end Messi, Mbappe, Di María and the likes arrived.”
Messi joined PSG in 2021 after leaving Barcelona and won two Ligue 1 titles with the French giants while Mbappe joined the Parisians a year after Neymar and is now the club’s record goal scorer.
Neymar could have won Ballon d’Or
Meanwhile, Andre Cury has claimed Brazil star Neymar could have won the Ballon d’Or at least twice in his career if he had not left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain, Barca Universal reports.
Cury claimed the Brazilian was the only player in Barcelona’s recent history who could potentially challenge Lionel Messi’s crown at the Catalan club.
Neymar left Barcelona in 2017 in a shocking move to PSG, and his career has not hit the heights expected since with Curry calling the move as a mistake on the part of the Brazilian.

FootballWhy Barcelona rejected Neymar's loan
Earlier, Sports Brief reported Barcelona have rejected the opportunity to take back Neymar on loan, seven years after the Brazilian superstar left the club in a world-record transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
The 31-year-old forward has faced constant criticism in France and is looking for a way out of PSG this summer, with Barcelona being a possible rumoured destination.
PSG had offered Neymar to Barcelona on loan to sweeten the deal for France winger, Ousmane Dembele, who is set to dump the Catalan giants for Paris.
