  • The Red Devils had fallen behind in the match thanks to a goal from Florian Soloca
  • But they turned the game on its head in the second half with three goals in 10 minutes

Manchester United scored three goals in 10 minutes against RC Lens to turn the game around as Erik Ten Hag’s side bounced back to winning ways.

United went into the game on Saturday, August 5 at the back of three straight defeats and despite the ‘friendly’ nature of the games, there was some pressure on the Red Devils to put up a performance.

There was a wave of dejavu across Old Trafford in the 23rd minute as United fell behind thanks to a bizarre goal from Florian Soloca, who chipped goalkeeper Andre Onana almost from the halfway line.

The goal came moments after Mason Mount somehow failed to give his side the lead with the goal at his mercy.

Neither side made changes to their squad in the second half, but it was United who seemed to have profited from the team talks at the break as they got their equalizer almost immediately after the restart through Marcus Rashford, whose effort from Antony’s pass was deflected off a defender and into the net, Per Sky Sports.

Alejandro Garnacho, who was a menace throughout the game, then kept his composure to finding Antony, who made no mistake with his finish.

Moments later, it was 3-1 as Marcus Rashford’s header from a cross appeared to come off Casemiro before creeping in.

Onana breaks silence

Sports Brief also reported Andre Onana’s first statement after conceding from 40 yards at Old Trafford.

RC Lens took a shock lead in the 23rd minute as Florian Sotoca noticed Onana was off his line and decided to attempt an audacious chip.

Speaking after the game, Onana did not mop or try to downplay RC Lens’ goal as he took responsibility on his part.

"Some things we have to try to fix. Like I always say, I am responsible for everything, especially when we concede goals.” He said.
