  • Premier League clubs have reportedly raised concern about Saudi Arabia's increased business this summer
  • Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is particularly concerned about the differences between the end of the transfer windows
  • Saudi Arabia has signed close to 20 top players from major European leagues in the past three months

Jurgen Klopp has asked FIFA to intervene and check into Saudi Arabia's transfer policy as more key players continue to ditch the European Leagues for the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia has witnessed an influx of top players this summer, with Karim Benzema and Sadio Mane headlining the list. The duo, with many others, join Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr in January after getting his Manchetser United contract terminated.

Former Chelsea winger Willian has become the latest player to be linked with a move to Saudi, only two weeks after agreeing a new deal with Fulham.

Klopp has now asked the world governing body to check the deadlines of the transfer windows of the European Leagues and the Saudi League. The Liverpool boss avers that European clubs will be at a disadvantage given that their transfer windows elapse three weeks early than Saudi's.

Klopp's issue with Saudi Arabia

The German tactician feels that Saudi clubs might still pop in and prise away players, with the European clubs having no chance to get replacements.

"Pretty much the worst thing is that the transfer window in Saudi Arabia is open three weeks longer. If I am right, I heard something like that, then at least in Europe, that’s not helpful. Uefa or Fifa must find solutions for that. It’s already influential for us, but we will have to learn to deal with it," as quoted by the Guardian.

GOAL adds that the Football Association(FA) understands the concerns raised by clubs, with Manchester City's Pep Guardiola also voicing his concern. Guardiola was speaking after he lost Riyad Mahrez to a deal he said City couldn't match.

However, any changes cannot be implemented this year even if the FA would file an appeal with FIFA. The Premier League season kicks off next weekend, with the transfer window ending on September 1.

Ronaldo shares warm hug with Mane

Sports Brief reported that Cristiano Ronaldo shared a warm hug with Sadio Mane and the rest of his Al-Nassr teammates to celebrate their qualification to the knockout phase of the Arab Club Champions Cup on Thursday.

Once again, the Portuguese veteran showcased his prowess in clutch moments, delivering a towering header that secured a crucial draw for his Saudi Arabian side.

Not only did his flying header rescue a point for the Knights of Nahd, but it also secured their spot in the quarter-finals of the regional competition.
