Barcelona are tempting Manchester City’s resolve to keep Bernardo Silva after offering the Portugal midfielder a tempting deal to move to Camp Nou this summer.
Xavi is a huge admirer of the Portuguese midfielder and wants to sign him in order to boost the overall quality of the squad, with Ousmane Dembele and Frank Kessie set to be on their way out.
According to Barca Universal, Barcelona has offered Silva a three-year deal with an option of a further year in a deal expected to cost in the region of €65mil plus €10mil in easy variables.
The 28-year-old midfielder is also expected to rise to Barcelona’s second highest-paid player behind Robert Lewandowski, with an annual salary package of €10 to 11 million if he decides to join the Catalan club.
Silva joined City from Monaco in a £43m deal in the summer of 2017 and has won 12 major trophies during his time in Manchester, including the UEFA Champions League
City to convince Silva to stay
Meanwhile, Manchester City remain hopeful of convincing midfielder Bernardo Silva to stay at the Premier League club and would like him to extend his contract, Goal reports.
The 28-year-old’s current contract with the reigning Premier League champions is set to run until 2025, but Pep Guardiola is determined to keep him at the Etihad Stadium for longer.
Silva played a key role for Manchester City as the English club made history by winning the FA Cup, Premier League and UEFA Champions League in one season for the first time in their existence.
