Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has partly blamed Thomas Tuchel’s sacking as one of the reasons he struggled at Chelsea during his time at the Premier League club.
The Gabonese forward managed just 550 minutes of football in all competitions for Chelsea last season, as he was mostly on the bench for the Blues after struggling to impress.
According to Football Espana, Aubameyang was signed to Chelsea by Tuchel, but the German manager was fired a week later, and the Gabonese forward says his career went downhill after that incident.
“when I arrived at Chelsea, the context was totally different. Because I arrived at Chelsea in no small part due to Thomas Tuchel, and a week later, he had been sacked.”
“So the two contexts were not at all similar, it was not easy for me, and that had an influence. From there I basically didn’t play anymore.”
Aubameyang scored just three goals throughout his time at Chelsea in contrast to the 13 goals he scored for Barcelona in just six months of playing for the Catalan giants.
Aubameyang holds incredible Chelsea record
Meanwhile, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has claimed that he clocked the fastest time in Chelsea training last season as he insists, he's still more than ready to play at the highest level, Goal reports.
The 34-year-old forward joined Ligue 1 giants Olympique Marseille this summer after having a nightmarish spell with the Blues, where he made just 21 appearances all season.
Aubameyang hopes the move to France will re-ignite his career following his struggles in the last 12 months and will hope to be in action when Marseille hosts Panathinaikos in the third round of the UEFA Champions League.

FootballAubameyang agrees to join Marseille
Earlier, Sports Brief reported Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reached an agreement to join French Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille, departing from Chelsea.
After a challenging period with the Blues, Aubameyang is set to sign a three-year contract with the former European champions, where he will reunite with former Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez.
The transfer between Chelsea and Marseille is reported to be fee-free, as the Premier League club has allowed the striker to leave without a transfer fee.
