Luis Enrique has issued a statement to debunk claims he is considering leaving Paris Saint-Germain due to the Kylian Mbappe saga, just weeks after his appointment as manager of the French side.
Mbappe is currently in a standoff with PSG following his refusal to renew his contract with the reigning Ligue 1 champions, which could see him leave for free next summer.
The 24-year-old France forward, who recently turned down a mega offer from Al-Hilal, was dropped from PSG’s pre-season tour to Asia as the club demanded he extends his contract or leave this summer.
According to Sportskeeda, Enrique is worried about the situation concerning PSG, but the Spanish manager has indicated he has no plans of quitting after PSG rubbished the rumours of his possible departure.
The Parisians have charged Enrique with bringing them more European success, particularly the UEFA Champions League title, after an underwhelming campaign outside of Ligue 1 last season.
