Cristiano Ronaldo continued his scoring streak by netting his second goal in consecutive games as Al-Nassr faced off against Zamalek at the King Fahd Stadium on August 3.
After Zizo put the Egyptian giants in the lead, Ronaldo's spectacular flying header equalised the score for the Saudi Arabian side.
The 1-1 result proved sufficient for the Riyadh-based team to secure a spot in the quarter-finals of the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup, finishing in second position behind Al-Shabab, according to MyKhel.
Ronaldo rescues Al-Nassr from elimination
Zamalek, still with a mathematical chance of qualifying for the knockouts, started the game with great intensity and both teams had goals disallowed as they pressed for victory.
The first half remained goalless until Zizo converted a penalty early in the second half after former Manchester United star, Alex Telles, was penalised for a handball inside the box.
As the threat of elimination loomed, Ronaldo rose to the occasion, heading home a towering goal in the 87th minute to rescue Al-Nassr from a premature exit from the competition.
The match also marked Sadio Mane's debut for Al-Nassr following his transfer from Bayern Munich in the ongoing summer transfer window.
