South Africa became the second African side to qualify for this year’s Women's World Cup knockout stages thanks to a thrilling win.
As noted by News24, Banyana beat Italy 3-2 in their final group game to finish second behind Sweden in Group G.
South Africa left it late and needed an extra-time goal from Thembi Kgatlana to secure all three points. Kgatlana, who captained the side in the absence of Refiloe Jane, also set up Hildah Magaia for Banyana’s second.
