  • Fabinho is set to become one of the highest-earning footballers in the world
  • The Liverpool midfielder has made a mega-money move to Saudi Arabia
  • Fabinho will link up with ex-Real Madrid captain Karim Benzema at Al Ittihad

Fabinho joined the list of football’s biggest earners after moving from English Premier League giants Liverpool to Al Ittihad of Saudi Arabia this summer.

The Brazilian midfielder is the latest of Europe’s top stars moving to the Middle East, joining Karim Benzema and Ngolo Kante at Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad.

According to the 90MIN, Fabinho will rake in £700,000 per week, £36.4m each season after the midfielder completed a £40mil transfer to the Saudi Pro League outfit.

The 29-year-old midfielder earns a similar amount to former Liverpool teammate Jordan Henderson who also takes home £700,000 per week at Al Ettifaq but higher than Ngolo Kante’s £413,000 weekly wages.

Fabinho, however, earns way lesser than new teammate Karim Benzema who takes home a massive £172m per year, and Cristiano Ronaldo, who earns a whopping £179m per year at Al Nassr.

Pennant hails Fabinho Liverpool exit

Meanwhile, former Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant has described Fabinho’s exit from the Reds as a masterstroke from the Merseyside club after the Brazilian joined Al Ittihad, Daily Star reports.

Pennant claims he has heard murmurs from within Anfield suggesting the 29-year-old Brazilian midfielder was a 'bad egg' in the dressing room, and it was good for Liverpool to get rid of him this summer.

Liverpool recouped all of their initial investment in Fabinho, a Champions League winner with the Anfield club, after completing a £40mil transfer to Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad.

Fabinho leaves Liverpool for Saudi

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Brazil midfielder Fabinho has signed a three-year deal with Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad after completing his move from Liverpool on Monday.

The 29-year-old was left out of Liverpool's pre-season squads for trips to Germany and Singapore after Al-Ittihad made a £40 million ($51 million) bid for him.

He will join Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante at Al-Ittihad, one of four Saudi clubs controlled by the Gulf state's sovereign wealth fund.
