Lionel Messi has named the player that he believes 'knows him to perfection'.

The football icon has had the privilege of playing alongside some of the finest footballers in the world during his illustrious and very successful career.

Andres Iniesta, David Villa, Xavi Hernandez, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar Junior are among a string of talented players the Argentine has shared the locker room with.

However, according to the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner, there is only one who understands him the best.

While he was still a member of the mighty La Blaugrana, Messi said that Jordi Alba is the man with whom he has developed an unrivaled rapport.

"Jordi Alba knows me to perfection," he told Catalunya Radio, via Barcelona's official website. "He knows when I will give him a no-look pass. I have a special connection with him," he added.

Messi and Alba struck up a perfect partnership together during their time at Camp Nou. According to Sportbible, the Spaniard assisted 23 of the Argentine's 672 goals for the Catalans.

Alba, Messi reunite in MLS

While the two football stars parted ways in 2021 after Messi switched the La Liga giants for Paris Saint-Germain, they are set to reunite at Inter Miami.

Alba recently sealed a move to the Major League Soccer franchise, in a transfer that saw him join the David Beckham co-owned team.

Messi made a blockbuster move to the American League in the summer on a free transfer from the Parisians and has already netted three times in just two games.

Lionel Messi mobbed by fans

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on fans mobbing Messi in Miami as he continues to take the MLS by storm.

The Argentine star was recently surrounded by supporters after leaving a store on the city's Lincoln Road.

One fan recorded the incredible scene, with Messi needing security to depart a local pedestrian mall.
