Obafemi Martins Becomes A US Citizen
Super Eagles and Seattle Sounders striker Obafemi Martins has become a citizen of the United States of America.

Martins was designated as a US citizen when the roster update for all the 20 MLS teams and listed Martins as a home player.
However, MLS clubs are allowed to register eight foreign nationals in their roasters.
Martins was recalled to the Super Eagles for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Swaziland by the head coach of the team, Sunday Oliseh. He came on as a substitute in the two matches against Swaziland.
Meanwhile, Martins who is currently holidaying in Nigeria was seen at the palace of the newly-crowned Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Adewusi. A video posted on his instagram page @obagoal, was not audible and we are not privy to their discussions.
