- Ex-Blues striker Michy Batshuayi was overly impressed by the young attacker
Former Chelsea striker, Michy Batshuayi, is in awe of women's star, Lauren James' ability on the ball and made an interesting admission about her.
James started her first game for England at a major tournament in the 1-0 win over Denmark and scored a beautiful screamer from outside the box six minutes into the game.
The performance was rewarded with another start against China, and she laid claim to a starting berth henceforth with an incredible attacking performance that got the whole world talking.
According to ESPN FC, James scored two goals - both of which were bangers - and assisted three goals before making way for Ella Toone in the 81st minute.
Batshuayi applauds Lauren James
Batshuayi spent six years at Chelsea but struggled to make a consistent impact, going out on four loans before making a permanent exit to Fenerbahce last summer.
He scored only eight goals, one of which was the winner against Crystal Palace to win the title in the 2016/17 season.
The Belgian's finishing was not the best and he thinks he has seen a player better in that regard.
"...Lauren’s got a better finish than me bro," he wrote on Twitter, tagging Lauren's brother, Reece James in his post.
The 22-year-old Chelsea Women's star was tipped to light up the tournament in Australia and New Zealand and has not disappointed.
Her brother, Reece, once claimed she is technically better than many male footballers in the Premier League and she is proving it with each game.
England topped Group D ahead of Denmark and will face African giants, Nigeria, who finished second in Group B behind co-hosts, Australia.
