Lauren James inspired England to a big win against China after a magnificent first-half performance saw her provide a brace of assists and a goal. She served Alessia Russo for the opener after just four minutes before finding Lauren Hemp for the second in the 26th minute.

James went from provider to scorer with four minutes remaining to half-time. The Chelsea star had a goal ruled out just before the break.

China pulled one back after the break through Wan Shuang but James responded moments later with her second of the match. James completed a hat-trick of assists after serving Chloe Kelly with England's fifth before Rachel Daly put the icing on the cake in the 84th minute, as reported by Al Jazeera.

The Three Lions will travel to Brisbane to play the Super Falcons with a place in the quarter-final at stake, as reported by The Guardian.
