Football clubs always try to get creative when announcing big names as their new players, and Saudi Arabia giants Al-Ittihad are no different.
The club decided to unveil former Liverpool man Fabinho as their new player in a bizarre fashion through a video of the midfielder holding a chained tiger.
Fabinho, 29, is the latest big name to leave Europe for the Saudi Arabia league and is set to become teammates with the likes of N’Golo Kante and Karim Benzema.
The deal is reportedly worth £40 million, according to Sunsport, and Fabinho will earn £425,000 per week for the next three years.
The Brazilian confirmed his Liverpool departure with an emotional statement as he thanked the club for “making his dreams come true”.
"I say this with a heart full of joy: I love this club. Thank you, Reds, for everything we've experienced together. You will never walk alone," his message read.
Al-Ittihad’s hilarious video
On Monday evening, Al-Ittihad made the anticipated announcement that they finally acquired their man by sharing an interesting video with the caption, “Tigers are allowed to pass”.
In the video, Fabinho poses with a chained tiger, and it almost looked like Al-Ittihad were making a reference to a rumoured tumbling block in the transfer.
As reported on The Guardian, there were reports that Fabinho’s move was on the verge of collapsing because of Saudi Arabia’s strict policy against “dangerous and aggressive dogs”. The Brazilian owns two bulldogs.
