Neymar Junior caught the world’s attention when he stole the show in Santos’ 2011 Copa Libertadores second-round fixture against Bolivar, putting up one of his best displays ever.
The Brazilian, who was just 20 years old at the time, produced a masterclass performance to help Santos cruise past their Bolivian opponents 8-0 despite losing the first leg of the encounter.
Neymar scored twice and assisted five more goals for his Brazilian team in one of the most one-sided victories in the history of the South American version of the Champions League.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Brazilian winger’s audacious skill had the fans talking afterwards as he outclassed his opponents on the pitch despite having a smaller stature.
Neymar would later move on to Europe to join La Liga heavyweights, Barcelona, in a mega-money deal worth a whopping €85 million in 2013.
Arsenal urged to sign Neymar
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta has been urged to sign Paris Saint-Germain superstar, Neymar, this summer by former player, Julio Baptista, as Arsenal continue to reinforce their team ahead of the new season, Team Talk reports.
The former Gunner believes the addition of the 31-year-old Brazilian winger will 'complete' the team and he sees no reason why the north London club should not try to sign him before this summer transfer window closes.
Neymar has scored 82 goals from 112 Ligue 1 outings since joining PSG for a world-record fee in 2017 and has in the past expressed his desire to play in the English Premier League.
