Bruno Fernandes has taken to social media to respond to claims he ignored Andre Onana.
Manchester United recently faced Real Madrid in a friendly game that offered chance to see Onana in action for the first time in Red Devils colours.
But the game ended in defeat for Erik Ten Hag’s men, as they conceded two goals against the La Liga giants.
Since the match, a video surfaced on social media suggesting Fernandes, who was recently appointed captain, snubbing the club’s new goalkeeper.
The video, shared by @was84FC on Instagram, had a scathing caption against Fernandes that read:
“Captain Bruno Fernandes doesn’t want anyone correcting him. Bruno ignores new signing Onana.”
Bruno’s response
Barely 24 hours after the video caused waves on social media and Fernandes has issued a brutal response which all but denied the claims.
In his rejoinder, Fernandes, 27, said:
“Nice how you could see me ignoring him when I was going to the place we was telling me to be positioned in the corner.
“Nice try to make it look bad.”
United have had mixed fortunes in pre-season, as an emphatic victory over Arsenal was followed by defeat to Wrexham and Real Madrid.
Their next game is against German giants Borussia Dortmund at the Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, and Ten Hag is expected to field a strong XI , including Fernandes and Onana.
