FootballAtalanta Identify Nigerian Striker to Replace Manchester United Bound Rasmus Hojlund
- Atalanta and Manchester United have reached an agreement over the transfer of Rasmus Hojlund
- The Denmark striker will move to England for a total fee of €85m, including add-ons
- The Bergamo-based club have identified Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis as his replacement
Atalanta have already identified a replacement and made an enquiry for outbound striker Rasmus Hojlund even before making his deal to Manchester United official.
United turned their attention to Hojlund after deeming Tottenham's demand of £100m for 30-year-old striker Harry Kane too expensive, with the striker closing in on a move to Bayern Munich.
According to The Athletic, the Red Devils will pay a guaranteed fee of €75m plus €10m performance and trophies-related add-ons for the Denmark striker.
He reportedly agreed personal terms on a five-year contract with a club option of a further year, with a medical and official announcement set for this week.
Atalanta identify Hojlund's replacement
According to Tuttosport, the Bergamo-based club have identified Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis as a potential replacement for their departing 20-year-old striker.
Dennis only joined Nottingham Forest last season after his former club Watford were relegated but struggled to hit the same form of 10 goals and six assists in the previous year.
Gian Piero Gasperini will look to partner the former Club Brugge striker with his compatriot Ademola Lookman, who formed a good partnership with Hojlund last season.
The Foresters would be pleased to let go of the 25-year-old who notched only two league goals last season, with the club having to rely on Taiwo Awoniyi's double-digit goals in his first season in the English top-flight to avoid relegation and end Arsenal's title hopes.
He will cost less than a fifth of what they sold the Dane to England after singing the prospect for €17m last summer, making five times of their investment.

Sports Brief reported that Emmanuel Dennis met Ronaldinho on a post-season holiday and rushed to social media to gush over the Brazilian legend.
He claimed the two-time Ballon d'Or winner was the reason he became a footballer as he was his inspiration in his childhood days from Yola, Adamawa state in Nigeria.
