FootballDe Jong’s Rush Tackle on Militao Sparks Mini War Between Real Madrid and Barcelona Players, Video
Frenkie De Jong ignited a mini-war between Real Madrid and Barcelona players with a forceful challenge during a pre-season match involving two of Spain's top clubs.
Both teams are currently in the United States, intensifying their preparations for the upcoming campaign.
Barcelona had experienced a win and a defeat in their previous two outings and were eager to secure a victory against their familiar rivals, Real Madrid, who had been flawless in pre-season so far.
Despite the match originally being friendly, the atmosphere on the pitch was highly competitive, with tackles flying in from all directions.
In one such moment, De Jong made a reckless tackle on Madrid's Eder Militao, which didn't sit well with Militao's teammates.
Quickly, a swarm of Los Blancos players rushed to the scene to express their displeasure, while players from the opposing side hurried to defend their Dutch teammate.
The centre referee, Chapman, had to intervene to separate the players from the melee swiftly.
The intensity of the game was evident in the number of yellow cards shown in the first half – a total of four, with De Jong himself receiving a caution for his part in the skirmish.
