Riyad Mahrez has become the latest high-profile football star to seal a summer move to the Saudi Pro League.
The Algerian winger has completed a move to Saudi giants Al Ahli in a £30million transfer deal.
According to The Sun, Mahrez was allowed to drop out of Manchester City’s pre-season tour of the Far East to secure the move.
His move to Al Ahli will see the 32-year-old link up with familiar faces from the Premier League.
The former PFA Player of the Year will be sharing the dressing room with ex-Premier League stars Roberto Firmino, Eduoard Mendy and Ezgjan Alioski at his new.
How much will Mahrez be earning?
The Mirror reports that the immediate former Manchester City ace will be pocketing weekly wages in the region of £750,000 and £865,000.
The wages are more than triple what Mahrez was pocketing at the Etihad Stadium during his stint with the Premier League giants.
Going by the figure, the Algeria international will pocket at least £50m for the two years he is expected to spend with Al Ahli.
A simple breakdown of Mahrez's wages would see him earn between £100k and £150k per day, which translates to about £6,000 per hour.
Meanwhile, the winger is the second Man City player from the treble-winning squad to depart the Etihad Stadium after Ilkay Gundogan, who joined Barcelona.
Mahrez wanted to join Arsenal
Sports Brief earlier reported that Mahrez was close to joining Arsenal in 2016.
Recently, the Algeria international reflected on his Premier League tenure and disclosed that he was close to sealing a move to Arsenal shortly after he had won the EPL with Leicester.
According to the treble winner, Arsene Wenger, who was the-then Gunners' boss, was desperate to secure his services, but the Foxes stood in his way.
